For the JRC, the European Union Joint Research Centre in Ispra, a new open position in the Digital Economy Unit for a data engineer is available.
The following knowledge and skills are required:
- Excellent data engineer and modelling experience, incl. structured, semi-structured and unstructured datasets
- Excellent knowledge of data warehousing concepts, methodologies and frameworks
- Excellent experience with common ETL frameworks, e.g. Talend, Informatica, etc.
- Data wrangling, data munging and ETL automation experience
- Scripting language experience (Python preferred)
- SQL expertise and relational database experience
- Experience with applying data encryption and data security standards
- Knowledge of batch- and real-time processing frameworks
- NoSQL, Hive or other big data query and ETL experience
Highly motivated, experience and ability in working in an international/multicultural environment, and the ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings.
