For a research group in the JRC in Ispra (https://ec.europa.eu/jrc/en/about/jrc-site/ispra), a new open position as external consultant is available.
What we offer
- As freelance, gross salary in range 50k-80k €/year depending on the experience of the candidate; as employee the salary will be agreed during the interviews.

Minimum requirements
- ** EU Citizenship **
- 3+ years of professional software development experience
- Extensive experience in Python programming
- Experience with RESTful APIs
- In-depth knowledge of any of Django-DRF/Flask/FastAPI or a similar framework
- Database skills, including schemas and ORMs
- Familiarity with the general programming best practices
- Highly motivated and ability in working in an international/multicultural environment
- Fluent English written and spoken
Preferred skills
- Python GIS and remote sensing data and processing libraries and tool knowledge
- Knowledge of generic data processing (numpy, scipy, matplotlib, etc..)
- Expertise in front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
- Basic understanding of big data technology
- Experience in AWS or other cloud computing services
- Experience with containerization and Kubernetes
- Experience with any of R, Go, IDL, C/C++
- Basic understanding of big data technology
